Be WISE is a Science, Technology, Engineering and Math Camp (STEM) designed to develop interest, excitement, and self confidence in young women who are entering grades 7 or 8 in the fall of 2021.

The camp began in the summer of 1989 and since then over 3,700 girls have completed the camp program. This summer will be the camp’s 32nd year.

Mission Statement.

Be WISE Camp’s mission is to develop interest, excitement, and self-confidence in middle school girls in Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM).  We hope to provide the girls with the confidence and motivation to enroll in more STEM classes at the high school and college levels to prepare them for careers in a STEM field.  Our camp is designed to provide real-life, hands-on experiences in STEM using problem solving and thinking skills.

This residential camp for 160 girls will be held (to be announced soon.)  It features a separate curriculum for each grade.  Maximum interaction and instruction is encouraged with a ratio of 2 teachers per 12 to 16 girls.  Of course, what would camp be without activities such as coding, yard games, etc.

We are at Kenyon College in Gambier, Ohio.  This experience includes sleeping and eating in a college dorm, learning in modern science labs and using campus recreational areas.
